Sci Fi Movie News
Last week, we reported that Steven Spielberg’s new UFO movie was being teased with a mysterious billboard, and the initial trailer for that–to be titled Disclosure Day–was released on released on Tuesday. Below is the synopsis (such as it is) and the trailer is above:
If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people.
We are coming close to … Disclosure Day.
It will hit theaters on June 26th.
Filming has wrapped on Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter which stars Ryan Gosling. Following is the synopsis provided for the film:
Set five years after the events of 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, a Jedi (Gosling) trains his 15-year-old nephew (Flynn Gray) as his Padawan. They’re on a mission while being pursued by two villains — one male, one female. The Padawan’s mother also plays an important role in the story, and there’s another major female character as well.
Lucasfilm refers to it as “an all-new standalone adventure” and “an entirely original story set in a period of time never before explored in Star Wars”. Along with Gosling, the film also stars Flynn Gray, Matt Smith, and Amy Adams. Post-production will apparently take a while for this one because the current premiere date is scheduled for May 2027.
Markiplier’s sci fi/horror film Iron Lung has been picked up by several of the major theater chains like AMC, Cinemark, and Regal. That film had received limited release in a few theaters in December to positive audience response, and now it will be getting a wider distribution with a premiere date set for January 30th. You can read more about the film and see the trailer at this link.
In production news, the Paranormal Activity revival from James Wan that we previously reported on is moving forward. That film appeared in the most recent Production Weekly listings and will likely be looking at a theatrical premiere at some point in 2026.
