Sci Fi Box Office: Scream 7 Tops the Box Office, M3GAN 2.0 Enters the Nielsen Rankings, and More

Sci Fi Box Office: Weekly post tracking the performance of sci fi and fantasy movies in the theaters and on streaming.

Box Office Results

It was another slow weekend for sci fi and fantasy at the Box Office with only four genre films in the Top 20. Horror entry Scream 7 took the top slot with $63.6 million in domestic receipts and over $100 million worldwide. On a budget of $45 million, that already has it on track to count as a success, and we can probably expect another installment in this franchise before too long. Avatar: Fire and Ash dropped out of the Top 10 in its eleventh week, but that one has pulled in over $1.5 billion globally and should be in the black by this point with a fourth film in the works. Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die slipped to Number 16 in its third week, and with only $8.2 million in global receipts, it will need to rely on home video to turn a profit. Luc Besson’s Dracula slipped to Number 17 in its fourth week in limited release, and even though it has earned $42 million globally, it will also have to rely on home video to make back its production costs. Below are all of the genre films from the Top 20 based on the weekend results.
