This site recently suspended ongoing posting due to a legal issue that came up with the use of an image for a post over on our sister site CancelledSciFi.com (more on that at this link). Since Axiom’s Edge Sci Fi uses images in its posts as well, I halted activity and went through a full review of the media library. That also brought me to the point of reconsidering the direction of the sites I am managing, and I have decided to take this one back to its original purpose.
When I revived Axiom’s Edge Sci Fi in late 2025 (after nearly a fifteen-year hiatus), its purpose was to support an ongoing magazine focused on science fiction and fantasy that would include fiction, comics, and articles related to the genres. I put together a trial issue, and you can see the PDF version of that at this link. But further due diligence made me realize it was not financially viable in that format.
After the recent legal issues led me to reconsider the fate of all my sites, I turned my attention back to the magazine and came up with a way that can make it work. So once again, I am moving forward with Axiom’s Edge Renegade Sci Fi and Fantasy, and I am inviting authors to submit short stories for consideration for inclusion in the first issue (more on that at this link).
I will not be including comics in the magazine at this point, as that is one of the factors that drove up the cost. The focus will be on short stories and articles related to the genres, as that is more financially viable. I may explore comics at a later date, but not now.
I also plan on using the magazine and the site to help promote the works of independent sci fi, but I am not resuming Spotlight on Indie Creators posts (nor other regular posting) at this time. I will continue to maintain the Sci Fi Movie Schedule and the Sci Fi TV Schedule, as well as the weekly Sci Fi Movies This Week newsletter (sign up for that below). The focus for now will be on the magazine, which I am tentatively targeting for a January 2027 release. Stay tuned to this site and our Twitter and Bluesky accounts for updates, and hopefully this will start a bold new adventure into the worlds of sci fi and fantasy.
