All of the Sci Fi and Fantasy Movies and TV Shows Coming to Streaming in April 2026

Streaming Sci Fi: Monthly post tracking the sci fi, fantasy, and horror movies coming to the streaming services in the current month.  Note that streaming availability can change with little to no notice.

April has plenty to offer to sci fi and fantasy fans with all of the new and returning movies and TV shows hitting the streaming services. There are six original series with premieres in the month, in bold below and you can read more about those at this link. And there are plenty of movies that will be arriving across the major services during the month, ranging from recent releases like The Running Man and Bugonia, to cult favorites like Moon and Event Horizon, to classics like Alien and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Tubi in particular has quite a lot of movies joining its lineup, so many that what I have below is a sampling of their best offerings (you can see all of their new releases at this link).  That service also has the original film Hive premiering this month.  Following are some highlights, and you can see the full list below.

Highlights for the Month:

The Running Man (2025): ​In a near-future society, The Running Man is the top-rated show on television—a deadly competition where contestants, known as Runners, must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, with every move broadcast to a bloodthirsty public and each day bringing a greater cash reward. Desperate to save his sick daughter, working-class Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is convinced by the show’s charming but ruthless producer, Dan Killian (Josh Brolin), to enter the game as a last resort. But Ben’s defiance, instincts, and grit turn him into an unexpected fan favorite—and a threat to the entire system. As ratings skyrocket, so does the danger, and Ben must outwit not just the Hunters, but a nation addicted to watching him fall. Premieres on Prime Video April 17th.

Moon (2009): Astronaut Sam Bell’s (Sam Rockwell) three-year shift at a lunar mine is finally coming to an end, and he’s looking forward to his reunion with his wife (Dominique McElligott) and young daughter. Suddenly, Sam’s health takes a drastic turn for the worse. He suffers painful headaches and hallucinations, and almost has a fatal accident. He meets what appears to be a younger version of himself, possibly a clone. With time running out, Sam must solve the mystery before the company crew arrives. Premieres on Hulu April 1st.

Them! (1954): Two policemen find a young girl wandering alone in the New Mexico desert in a state of shock. They search for her family and find the camper, but it has been ripped apart and they find no other people there. FBI agent Robert Graham (James Arness) arrives to help with the investigation, and they discover a strange animal track near the camper which they take an impression of. This prompts two entomologists to join the investigation, the senior Dr. Harold Medford (Edmund Gwenn) and his daughter Dr. Pat Medford (Joan Weldon). The elder scientist has a theory that the nuclear testing done in the area may have caused ants to mutate to incredibly large sizes, and this proves itself true as several large ants attack them when they go to investigate the site of the camper. They must then deal with these giant insects before they spread across the country and the world and bring about the extinction of humankind. Premieres on Tubi Apri1 1st.

Hive (2026): When a strict, anxious teen loses the child she’s babysitting, she’s forced to confront a sinister presence hiding among playground children as her grip on reality slips. Premieres on Tubi April 17th.
