All of the Sci Fi and Fantasy Movies and TV Shows Coming to Streaming in July 2026

Streaming Sci Fi: Monthly post tracking the sci fi, fantasy, and horror movies coming to the streaming services in the current month.  Note that streaming availability can change with little to no notice.

July offers a healthy selection of sci fi and fantasy options across the streaming services including new movies and new TV shows, as well as plenty of encore runs. Leading things off is the streaming premiere of the horror film Exit 8 which arrives on Shudder later this month. Also on that service, the streaming horror original Saccharine will be having its premiere in July. Another streaming premiere for the month is the sci fi horror film Cold Storage which is headed to MGM+. Other movies of interest include the Evil Dead films which arrive on HBO Max, the Hunger games movies which will hit Netflix mid-month, and the first two Hellboy films which arrive on Peacock. Quite a number of new TV shows arrive this month (indicated in bold below), and you can read more about those at this link. In addition, several encore runs are hitting streaming including Hannibal (Netflix), Snowpiercer (Hulu), The Tick (the 2001 and 2016 live-action versions, Netflix), and The Real Ghostbusters (Tubi). Highlights for the Month:

Exit 8 (2025): After a man gets lost in an underground passage, strange things start happening to him. Is this space real? Or an illusion? Will the man be able to escape the passage? Premieres on Shudder July 17th.

Cold Storage (2026): When a highly contagious, mutating fungus escapes a sealed facility, two young employees, joined by a grizzled bioterror operative, must survive the wildest night shift ever to save humanity from extinction, as the microorganism spreads and destroys everything in its path. Premieres on MGM+ July 18th.

The Hunger Games (2012): Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love. Premieres on Netflix July 14th.

Hannibal (2013): Explores the early relationship between the renowned psychiatrist and his patient, a young FBI criminal profiler, who is haunted by his ability to empathize with serial killers. Season 1 thru 3 premiere on Netflix July 27th.
