Spotlight on Indie Creators: Subterra Podcast

About: In the mid-21st century, a secret complex of subterranean bunkers was created as a response to impending Armageddon events. They were built to save humanity from war, disease and toxic air. It was only a matter of time before the surface of Earth would be uninhabitable and space exploration was not an option. The underground complex could house ten-thousand people. Inside, energy could be harnessed from geo-thermal caches. Food could be produced in greenhouses with artificial light. Water could be pumped in from underground aquifers. It was self-sustaining. Mankind could ride out the storm for 100 years. So when war broke out, and the air turned to poison, mankind went deep down into the Earth to seek shelter and build a new utopian society with the goal of repopulating the world when the time came. They called the place… Subterra.

In this sci-fi, dystopian tale of survival, we follow Ace as he scavenges for his existence in a massive, underground bunker. An outcast, he’s always on the run from security forces, AI robots, and mutant creatures. Alone in this world, his only desire is to escape Subterra and see the sun for the first time in his life… But what is waiting for him on the surface?

JohnnyJay Says: This offers a decent bit of dystopion sci fi with an interesting world and some well-developed characters.  The production is well done with a good voice cast, and it keeps things moving along at a rapid pace.  The first season episodes are pretty short and a quick listen.  For the second and third seasons, the episode length increases as they pack in more story, but you are more engaged by that point, and the narration never bogs down.  This one is definitely worth checking out for sci fi fans, and I will be posting a more complete review in the coming weeks.
