Box Office Results

The Japanese horror film Exit 8–based on the video game of the same name–made it into the Box Office Top 10 this past weekend even though it only had a limited release. It was at the Number 8 slot, pulling in $1.4 million in domestic ticket sales across 495 theaters. That one has already grossed $41 million in its home country on a budget of less than one and a half million, so it certainly counts as a hit. Project Hail Mary held at the Number 2 slot in its fourth week and added another $24 million in receipts across North America. At $513 million in ticket sales globally vs. a hefty budget of $200 million, it is on target to turn a profit during its theatrical run. Below are all of the genre films from the Top 20 based on the weekend results.
