A long time ago, in our Milky Way galaxy, there came “Colonel Bleep” (1957 – 1960), the world’s first color cartoon made for television. Now in the evergrowing era of Indie Animation, an epic retelling is about to come to life.
Colonel Bleep ’69 is a 2D sci-fi animated series by Grace Taboada under the new art business, The Radiant Galaxy, and is based on the public domain classic created by Robert D. Buchanan and Jack Schleh and produced by Soundac.
Set during the golden age of space exploration, comes the thrilling adventures of the titular spaceman and his loyal deputies, Squeak the puppet and Scratch the caveman, dedicating their lives in bringing peace, progress, truth, and justice throughout the countless worlds of outer space.
Here, our story shall begin when Colonel Bleep sets off on his first adventures to Earth shortly after the Apollo 11 mission. There he will start his first bonding with Squeak and Scratch, knowing they’re going to need him in the best and worst conditions. But of course great danger will also lie ahead as a certain evil doer will be off doing whatever it takes to exterminate the spaceman…but what if there was a specific reason to why?

Long ago in Postwar America, there came a historical TV cartoon with a complicated legacy…
Once upon a time, in the brink of the golden space age, there was small studio in Florida called Soundac. During its lifespan, the studio prioritized on animated commercials and game shows, until the fated year in 1957, they reached a milestone in creating the world’s first television cartoon produced in color titled Colonel Bleep.
Colonel Bleep (1957 – 1960), created by Robert D. Buchanan and Jack Schleh, revolved around the adventures of the titular alien space ranger from the gleaming, googie world of Futura, who is sent to Earth to keep surveillance of the blue planet during its terrifying rise of nuclear bombs.
Upon arrival, Bleep would form a headquarters on a small island on the center of Earth’s axis and form an unbreakable alliance with two misfit Earthlings of his liking. First there is Squeak, a lively marionette with the mind, body, and heart of a little boy and a strong sense of curiosity and mischief. Donning a cowboy outfit, which highlights the prominence of western media of the 50s, Squeak represents the present for children at that time.
Next, there is Scratch, a clueless, but strong and resourceful prehistoric human with a heart of gold. Once he was living a happy life in the Stone Age, next Scratch somehow survived hibernation for “several thousands of years” until the first atomic explosion, thus being thrown “right out of the past and into the present.” Although Scratch has a lot to learn about how much the world has changed, he does vow to protect Earth (and the rest of the universe) with his incredible strength, determination, and a spiked wooden club. Together the three vowed to experience daring adventures from Earth to the deep outer space as well as protect the universe from malicious forces like Dr. Destructo, Bruto the Black Robot, Black Patch the Space Pirate, The Black Knight of Pluto, and many other threats.
